Texas ranked #1 for worst drivers in the country

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A new report released by Forbes Advisor shows Texas tops the list of worst drivers in the entire country. Meanwhile, the state of New Mexico came in 6th place.

Forbes gave the Lone Star State a score of 100 out of 100. Meanwhile, the Land of Enchantment received a score of 78.86.

Other states who ranked in the Top 10 for worst drivers include Louisiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Wyoming, Arizona, Montana and South Carolina.

The report revealed Washington D.C. has the best drivers.

Additionally, Texas also has the third-highest number of drunk drivers involved in deadly crashes. The state also has the ninth-highest number of deadly crashes involving distracted drivers.

The owner of A2B Driving School, Lisa Brown, wasn't surprised when she learned of the ranking.

She told ABC-7, distracted driving continues to be a large challenge.

Brown said she frequently sees El Pasoans running red lights and speeding.

"I have almost been hit a couple times just in the last few months people just speed up or go through them, but a lot of them is distractions too. They don't pay attention to their driving," she said.
