New 50-meter community pool in Las Cruces to open May 27th, 2023

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department has announced the upcoming opening of a new 50-meter community pool, known as the Las Cruces Natatorium. This new facility, located at 1405 E. Hadley Ave, is set to open its doors on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

The Natatorium will offer lap swimming, fitness swimming, and open swim sessions from May 27 to September 4, 2023. The lap and fitness swimming sessions will be available from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and again from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Each session is priced at a modest $2 per person with no reservation necessary. These swimming lanes will be open to two to four swimmers at a time.

Additionally, Open Swim sessions will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. These sessions are perfect for those looking for a leisurely swim, with a fee of $4 for adults and $3 for children between the ages of 2 and 17. The pool will remain closed on Sundays.

In celebration of this addition to the community, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 15, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. The City of Las Cruces invites all community members to this grand opening event, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of local recreational facilities.
