Road closures in El Paso County, Las Cruces for the week of May 30 to June 2

EL PASO, Texas -- From west to east El Paso, to Southern New Mexico there's a construction project in almost every part of the Borderland. Here's a complete list of TxDOT's and Las Cruces road closures May 30 to June 2.

Green Ribbon Project

Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, June 2

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Montana east and westbound between Killarney and Airway left lane closed.
  • Doniphan east and westbound between Thorn and Borderland left lane closed.

Crews will be installing new landscape

Guardrail Repair Project

Tuesday, May 30

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Hawkins and Airway two right lanes and exit ramp closed.

Wednesday, May 31

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound between Spur 1966 and Executive right lane and exit ramp closed.
  • I-10 eastbound between Piedras and Copia right lane closed.

Thursday, June 1

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Dallas and Downtown right lane and exit ramp (19A) closed.

Friday, June 2

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 westbound between Mesa Park and Sunland Park right lane closed.
  • South Desert between Redd and Thorn right lane closed.

Miscellaneous Concrete

Wednesday, May 31 through Friday, June 2

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 east and westbound between Campbell and Ange left lane closed.

Crews will be repairing concrete traffic barrier.

  • FM-1905 West to East Frontage turnaround closed.

Crews will be repairing sidewalk.

Maintenance

Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, June 2

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • I-10 eastbound at Schuster alternate lane closure.
  • I-10 east and westbound between Trowbridge and Buffalo Soldier alternate lane closures.

Crews will be repairing crack seal on bridge deck.

  • Gateway West between Copia and Raynor left lane closed.
  • I-10 West at Copia exit closed.

Crews will be cleaning.

  • US-54 northbound at Hondo Pass exit closed.
  • Gateway North between Moonlight and Skyline left lane closed.

Crews will be installing delineators.

I-10 Widening West

Beginning on Tuesday, May 30, at 6 a.m.

  • The westbound on-ramp from North Desert Boulevard to westbound I-10 at Redd Road will close permanently.
  • DETOUR: Continue on North Desert Boulevard, enter I-10 past Artcraft Road.

Crews will begin construction of a new Artcraft exit ramp.

The following closures will continue until further notice:

  • Westbound I-10 is reduced to one lane at David Road between Transmountain Road and Vinton Road.
  • Sundays through Thursdays, intermittent overnight lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-10 between Vinton Road and Redd Road.
  • Mondays through Saturdays, intermittent daytime lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-10 between Vinton Road and Redd Road.
  • Mondays through Saturdays, intermittent daytime lane closures on North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard between Anthony and Redd Road.
  • South Desert Boulevard is closed to all traffic from the Vinton Road onramp to Los Mochis Drive.
  • South Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Los Mochis Drive and Transmountain Road.
  • South Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Artcraft Road and Redd Road.
  • North Desert Boulevard reduced to one lane between Redd Road and Artcraft Road. 

Loop 375 Widening Project

Tuesday, May 30 through Thursday, June 1

Nightly, 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

  • Americas Avenue (Loop 375) northbound main lane closure from Zaragoza Overpass (POE) to Pellicano Drive Entrance Ramp
  • North Loop Underpass and Alameda Road Underpass will be closed

Crews will be working on bridge structures and striping main lanes

Tuesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 3

Daily, 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  • Americas Highway (Loop 375) southbound left lane closure from North Loop Exit Ramp to Pan American Exit Ramp

Crews will be using for job access

Tuesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 3

Daily 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  • Americas Avenue (frontage road) north and southbound alternating lane closure from North Loop Drive to Zaragoza Road (POE)

Crews will be installing utility wiring

Tuesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 3

Daily, 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  • Americas Avenue (frontage road) northbound left lane closure from Pan American Exit Ramp to Pan American Intersection

Crews will be working on retaining wall

I-10 Guardrail Upgrades

Wednesday, May 17 until further notice

  • 1-10 East and westbound left lane closures between Horizon overpass to Clint overpass

Crews will begin removing guardrail

I-10 Widening West Closures

LAS CRUCES

  • Westbound lanes of Spruce Avenue, at the Walnut Street intersection, will be temporarily closed for approximately six hours beginning at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
  • The northbound lane on south Solano Drive, between Utah Avenue and Idaho Avenue, will be closed from Tuesday, May 30, 2023, to Friday, June 2, 2023.
  • As part of a Crack Sealing Maintenance Project, there will be temporary lane closures on several city streets beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The work is scheduled to take four working days to complete. For the public’s convenience, crews will work weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected streets include:
    • Ben Bolt Place: From the cul-de-sac to Mars Avenue. This work will be in City Council District 5.
    • Valverde Loop: To and from Mars Avenue. This work will be in City Council District 5.
    • Conocito Place: From Valverde Loop to the edge of the pavement. This work will be in City Council District 5.
    • Bitter Creek: From the edge of the pavement to Calias Avenue. This work will be in City Council District 6.
