Injured hiker carried down mountainous Las Cruces trail

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The Las Cruces Fire Department Technical Rescue Team helped get an injured hiker off the Organ Mountains Monday. That's according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.

The hiker, identified only as a woman in her 30s, hurt herself while hiking the Dripping Springs Trail around 5 p.m.

Emergency crews from the American Medical Response team got to the woman first and started treating her. The Technical Response Team then arrived and helped carry the hiker down the mountain.

The rescue took just over an hour and a half. Emergency crews then took the hiker to the hospital. Her injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
