Update: A City of Las Cruces spokesperson tells ABC-7 that Aragon no longer works for the city. He was hired in August of 2007 and was terminated on September 19, 2023. The spokesperson said Aragon had not been in the office since August 16, 2023.

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- 38-year-old Dominic Luis Aragon is facing 25 counts of various types of child sex charges. That's according to Dona Ana County Detention Center records. He is being held without bond.

Records show that Dona Ana County Sheriff's deputies arrested Aragon in El Paso Wednesday morning. They booked him into the detention center, where he currently remains. ABC-7 is working to learn when his first court appearing will happen.

Officials charged Aragon with 11 counts of criminal sexual contact of a clothed minor, five counts of criminal sexual contact of an unclothed minor, and nine counts of criminal sexual penetration causing injury.

ABC-7 is trying to learn more information about Aragon's alleged crimes. We will update this story as we learn more information.
