El Paso Zoo mountain lions pick the “Chiefs” to win on Sunday

EL PASO ZOO

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Franklin and Scout, the resident mountain lions at the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens picked the Kansas City Chiefs to win Sunday's big game.

The mountain lions choose between two helmet-shaped piñatas, representing the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The helmets were filled with identical treats prepared by zoo staff.

Many El Paso fans were on hand to witness first hand the prediction by Franklin and Scout Saturday afternoon.

The annual tradition provides the animals mental and physical stimulation as well as encouraging visitors to come to the zoo.

This is the second year the mountain lions pick Kansas City.
