Horizon City police seize loaded handgun and alcohol from minors

HORIZON, Texas (KVIA) -- The Horizon City Police Department said Saturday morning August 15, 2026, Horizon City Police officers performed a traffic stop near Darrington Road and Thayer Pease Drive involving three juveniles.

Police investigation says that officers recovered a loaded Glock 17 handgun with 17 rounds of ammunition from one of the juveniles.

The minor in possession of the firearm was taken into custody for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Minor in Possession of Alcohol and was released to juvenile detention personnel.

According to officials, the other two juveniles were cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and released to responsible parties.

Officials did not release any identifying information regarding the minors involved.
