ABC-7 Xtra Sunday – The debate over trucks on the Bridge of the Americas renewed

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- More than billions of dollars worth of trade goods move across the bridge of the Americas between the U.S. and Mexico every year - not to mention thousands of vehicles and passengers every day.

The current plan to modernize the bridge calls for the removal of commercial traffic, after pushes by nearby residents concerned about emissions from idling trucks.

But the El Paso business community says that change would cause "irreversible economic consequences" for the region based on a new impact study.

So what is at stake, and what would the impacts be?
