EL PASO, Texas -- A man in an SUV led Texas state troopers on a chase Friday morning in the Americas and North Loop areas of El Paso before a trooper shot at the tires of the vehicle near Del Valle High School to end the pursuit.

Authorities said the chase began about 7:20 a.m. on north Loop 375 when a trooper attempted to pull over the SUV for erratic driving, but instead of stopping - the driver sped away and the chase was on.

That pursuit ended shortly after a trooper fired shots at the SUV's tires between Del Valle Elementary and High schools.

Pedro Rosales, 32, of Clint, was arrested on charges of evading and resisting arrest and was being held in the El Paso County jail downtown.

No injuries were reported in the chase, portions of which were captured on video and posted to social media by the group Fit Fam El Paso. (You can view that video at the top of this article.)
