3 shot, wounded during large party near the SAC
EL PASO, Texas -- Three people were shot and wounded early Saturday near the Socorro Athletic Complex or SAC, authorities said, with one of the gunshot victims critically injured.
Sheriff's deputies found the wounded trio about 2:30 a.m. after responding to a shots fired call at Bob Hope and Joe Battle.
Investigators believe the shootings occurred while a large group of people were partying in the desert area behind the SAC, but they said the motive had not yet been determined.
The victims were taken to a local hospital, where deputies said one was listed in critical condition and the other two were stable.
There was no word late Saturday morning of any arrests in the case.
