Victim hospitalized after being shot in Socorro, police search for shooter’s car

SOCORRO, Texas – A person was shot and taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon in Socorro, a city spokesman confirmed.

The shooting happened along Burma Road at about 2 p.m.

The extent of the shooting victim's injuries were not immediately known.

Socorro police were investigating the shooting and an arrest has not been made, but officials indicated they did not believe there was a public danger.

The shooter's vehicle is described as a four-door silver or light gray Chrysler. Socorro police are asking for anyone who may have information about the shooting to call them at (915) 858-6986.
