Police seek video of Cincinnati District bar shooting that left 1 dead, 1 charged with murder

UPDATE, Feb. 18: Detectives said Thursday they believe video may exist of a deadly shooting earlier this month outside of a bar at closing time in El Paso's Cincinnati Entertainment District in which a Fort Bliss man has been charged in what police call a murder.

Police asked that anyone with video of the shooting - or a fight that took place inside the Chino Chido bar prior to the Feb. 8 deadly gunfire - to contact Crimes Against Persons detectives at (915) 212-4040 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477.

The shooting victim was previously identified as 26-year-old Darion Marquez Williams, while police have charged 23–year-old Marcus Lamar Hill of Ft. Bliss with his murder.

UPDATE, Feb. 11: El Paso police said Thursday they had arrested two Fort Bliss men stemming from a shooting death in the city's Cincinnati Entertainment District earlier this week.

23–year-old Marcus Lamar Hill of Ft. Bliss was arrested Wednesday night during a traffic near his home and booked into the downtown jail on a murder charge. He was being held on $750,000 bond.

Police said a passenger in Hill's car, 29–year-old Brandon Rishad King of Ft. Bliss, was also arrested and charged with illegal handgun possession. He was released from the jail on a personal recognizance.

Hill is accused of gunning down Darion Marquez Williams, 26, after a bar fight involving the pair.

Police declined to release mugshots of either Hill or King.

UPDATE, Feb. 8: Investigators on Monday afternoon said the victim of an early morning shooting in El Paso's Cincinnati Entertainment District has now died at a local hospital.

The deceased was identified by authorities as Darion Marquez Williams, 26.

"The investigation revealed that prior to closing, a fight had broken out inside the Chino Chido bar and bouncers removed those involved from the bar," police wrote in an incident report. "At closing time as patrons were leaving, a fight broke out on the street where the victim was shot."

ORIGINAL REPORT, Feb. 8: EL PASO -- El Paso Police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries early Monday morning.

Crimes against Persons Detectives were called out around 2 a.m. to the 2700 block of North Stanton Street, which in the Cincinnati Entertainment District. Police closed two blocks of Stanton between Cincinnati and Mississippi Avenue.

ABC-7 crews saw police officers entering a door that appeared to belong to a business called Chino Chido. Police did not confirm if the business was involved. Officers placed evidence markers on the ground in the parking lot outside the business.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center in serious condition.
