Police identify man who allegedly shot and wounded another man in El Paso’s Lower Valley

EL PASO, Texas -- Police arrested 31-year-old Carlos Silva for allegedly shooting 33-year-old Jonathan Jacob Rios Friday night. The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. at 849 Lafayette.

Police said Rios was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital. There's no word yet on how serious his injuries were or what condition he was in.

Silva is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility the following morning. Police said Silva was also booked on 5 outstanding traffic warrants. His bonds totaled $251,752.
