‘She’s trying to kill me’, court documents reveal moments leading to teen’s stabbing
UDPDATE (9/9/26): Court documents obtained by ABC-7 reveal the moments that led up to the stabbing of a 14-year-old. Police charged Jaine King with assault with a deadly weapon in the September 2 stabbing.
According to court documents, police were called out to the 400 block of Nordstrom for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they met with the reporting party outside of the house, later identified in documents as the brother of the victim. The brother let officers inside the house, telling the officers that King was inside the garage and his brother had been stabbed.
Documents say the officers told everyone inside the home to get out as they watched the garage.
The 14-year-old victim, who was hospitalized, told police that he was in his room playing video games when he saw King enter his room with a bat in one hand and a small knife in the other.
The victim told King to put down the items, but King allegedly began to stab the teen. Documents say a struggle ensued; sometime during the struggle, the teen was able to escape from King and go to his brother's room, locking the door and calling 911.
The brother told police that he was in his room when he suddenly heard slamming, running, and screaming coming from upstairs; that's when court documents say he told police that he saw the teen at the top of the stairs, covered in blood.
Court documents say the brother heard the teen saying, "she's trying to kill me, she's trying to kill me". The brother told police he saw King chasing the victim down the stairs.
The teen grabbed a stool to defend himself from King, according to court documents. The brother told police he grabbed the teen and took him to his room. The brother also told police that he grabbed a towel from the bathroom and placed it on the largest wounds he could see.
Court documents say the brother grabbed another towel to stop the bleeding as the one he had filled with blood very quickly.
Police later arrested King in the garage after a SWAT standoff, which lasted several hours.
UPDATE (9/9/26): The El Paso Police Department (EPPD) released the mugshot of Janie King, the woman who was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after a 14-year-old was hospitalized with stab wounds.
Police have not released any further details.
UPDATE (10:51 p.m.): EPPD said a woman in her 40s was taken into custody and faces aggravated assault charges. She is expected to be taken to the hospital to evaluate her status.
This comes after a standoff lasting more than four hours concluded at a home on the 400 block of Nordstrom in West El Paso at 10:20 p.m., according to El Paso Police.
It concluded when the El Paso Police SWAT unit had to break into the garage of the home and physically remove the woman from the premises.
A 14-year-old boy has been hospitalized with stab wounds, according to police.
Three other juveniles were reported to be in the home at the time of officers' arrival earlier this evening; however, none of them sustained any injuries and were recovered, according to police.

UPDATE (9:10 p.m.): The standoff between El Paso Police's SWAT team and a woman inside a house on the 400 block of Nordstrom in West El Paso is still ongoing.
Police have continued to use a megaphone speaker system to communicate with the woman inside of the house, as an audio recording of another woman claiming to be her sister has aired over the speaker within the last 30 minutes.
A public information officer with the El Paso Police Department is expected to speak to the media around 9:20 p.m. at the corner of Kenmore Street and Clarkstone Court.
UPDATE: The El Paso Fire Department said one person with serious injuries was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Several units with the El Paso Police Department responded to a house in the 400 block of Nordstrom in West El Paso.
A call reporting a stabbing in a house in the area was received about 5:47 p.m. by police.
No word on the severity of the injuries or if any arrests have been made at this time.
