Correction: Navy-SEALs story

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a story published Jan. 22, 2024, about the deaths of two Navy SEALs, The Associated Press, following the accounts of military officials, erroneously reported the sequence of events leading to the deaths. The military officials now say their preliminary findings indicate that Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers fell into the water as he was boarding a boat that was smuggling illicit weapons to Yemen and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram jumped into the water to try to save him, not that Ingram fell into the water and then Chambers jumped in.
