The Latest | Prosecution and defense debate jury instructions in Trump’s criminal trial

NEW YORK (AP) — The defense has rested its case in Donald Trump’s hush money trial without the former president testifying in his own defense. The conclusion of witness testimony on Tuesday brings the trial one step closer to closing arguments, which will take place next week. Jurors have been sent home and will not return until next Tuesday. The trial is in its 20th day. Prosecutors have accused Trump of a scheme to bury negative stories that might have torpedoed his 2016 presidential campaign and falsifying internal business records to cover it. He has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to all 34 felony counts.
