CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- Three children were killed in a raging house fire late Monday night in a south Juárez neighborhood, authorities said.

According to ABC-7's news partners at Canal 44, the children who died in the blaze were ages 2, 3 and 7.

Neighbors said the parents of the children were at work when the fire broke out and the children had been home alone.

Firefighters were eventually able to get the intense flames under control, but it was too late to save the children inside the house.

It remained unknown what caused the deadly blaze and authorities were investigating.
