Two migrants rescued from border wall in El Paso
Update (3:00 PM): A Border Patrol spokesperson sent out the following statement about the rescue.
"On December 12, 2024, at approximately 04:20 a.m. MST, El Paso Station Agents observed a group of seven individuals attempting to make an illegal entry near Border Safety Initiative 37. Minutes later, five individuals returned south and two climbed over the International Border Barrier and were not able to descend. The El Paso Fire Department was contacted to assist in the rescue. Fortunately, two males from Mexico and Guatemala were successfully rescued without incident and evaluated by El Paso Fire Emergency Medical Services on scene. The subjects were transported to the processing center for further processing and disposition for illegal entry."

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Fire Department responded to a special rescue on Loop 375 and Midway Dr.
Fire dispatch says it happened at 4:32 a.m. on Thursday morning.
According to fire dispatch, crews were originally called out to assist in a rescue, but it was upgraded to a special rescue.
ABC-7 crews saw firefighters using a fire truck aerial ladder, also known as a cherry picker. They also saw what appeared to be two people at the top of the border wall, dangling.
Our crew on the scene also saw two people getting escorted from an ambulance to a Border Patrol unit.
ABC-7 has reached out to U.S. Border Patrol for more information and we are waiting to hear back.
