Maria Bartiromo and Fox part ways, effective immediately

(CNN) — Fox News is parting ways with longtime business news anchor Maria Bartiromo, effective immediately.

Fox announced the departure Thursday afternoon, noting that the morning’s episode of “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business was her last.

“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” Fox said in a statement.

Bartiromo’s shocking departure is the largest surprise from the network since Tucker Carlson’s departure in April 2023. Fox’s announcement did not explain the reason for Bartiromo’s departure. When pressed for more details around Bartiromo’s departure, the network pointed to the announcement.

In lieu of “Mornings with Maria,” which airs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET, the network will transition to “Mornings with FOX Business,” beginning Friday. That program will be hosted by rotating anchors.

Similarly, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” which airs weekly on Friday from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET, will become “FBN’s Wall Street,” hosted by Cheryl Casone this week, then rotating anchors.

And over on Fox News Channel, “Sunday Morning Futures,” which airs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET, will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz, a former Republican congressman-turned-Fox analyst, this week, though a different host will be announced in the future.

Bartiromo did not respond to a request from CNN for comment.
