SISD teacher’s aide arrested on child sex charges

EL PASO, Texas -- A teacher's aide in the Socorro Independent School District has been arrested on child sex charges, sheriff's office and school officials said Friday.

61-year-old David Quintanar is charged with child indecency, child sexual contact and having an improper educator/student relationship.

He was being held Friday on $75,000 bond at the downtown El Paso jail after being arrested a day prior at his home.

Authorities did not provide any further details of his alleged crimes.

SISD officials said he's been a teacher's aide at William D. Slider Middle School since 2009 and was suspended without pay when the allegations surfaced.
