EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- La Fe Preparatory School held its annual Children's Halloween Parade Friday morning.

Students in pre-K through fifth grade visited the South El Paso Senior Center, the La Fe Central Clinic and the La Fe Child and Adolescent Wellness Center's pediatric medical unit.

"A lot of childhood joy is what happened here today," said Estela Reyes with La Fe Preparatory School. "It's something that we love to do for our community's children. They can know how deeply they are loved."

Reyes said the school started the traditional parade when it first opened in 2007.

At the Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus, families and former patients reunited for the annual NICU Halloween Reunion.

Children arrived in costumes to celebrate milestones and reconnect with the nurses and doctors who cared for them during their earliest days. The hospital's level four NICU staff said the event is a special way to honor the resilience of these children and the bonds formed in the NICU.
