Claudia Lizette Rodriguez wins El Paso’s District 6 council runoff election

KVIA

EL PASO, Texas - Final results Saturday night in the runoff election for El Paso's district six council seat indicate Claudia Lizette Rodriguez has won the race, beating Debbie Torres.

According to unofficial election results, Rodriguez had 645 votes (53.09%) and Torres had 570 votes (46.91%).

The polls closed at 7 p.m. on Saturday. At 9:30 p.m., 100% of precincts were reporting numbers.

"The top priority for District six is to fix our infrastructure," Rodriguez told ABC-7 this week. "We have a lot of old roads, especially in the valley."

"What I hear constituents saying is that they want to be heard and they want to be able to have their issues resolved," said Torres earlier this week.
