EL PASO, Texas -- An El Paso police bomb squad on Thursday removed a "suspicious item" from an east side intersection.

The intersection of Edgemere and Seabrook was shut down for hours after officers discovered the item and summoned the bomb removal team.

That item was found near a bus stop in the typically busy traffic area.

Dispatchers said they received a call about the item around 8 a.m.; police finally cleared the scene during the noon hour.
