Body pulled from downtown El Paso canal by water rescue crews

Authorities on scene where a body was recovered from a downtown El Paso canal.

EL PASO, Texas -- Fire department water rescue crews pulled a body out of the water of a downtown El Paso canal on Wednesday evening.

The body was discovered by Border Patrol agents floating in the canal along the 300 block of Calleros Court around 5:30 p.m.

There was no immediate information on the identity of the victim; police were investigating the death.
