EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso Fire Department's water rescue team pulled a body out of a central city canal on Tuesday afternoon.

Crews responded after Border Patrol agents saw a person floating in the water at Delta and Cypress.

But upon arrival, fire crews said the mission changed from a water rescue to a body recovery.

Border Patrol is investigating the death.
