EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- In observance of Labor Day, which celebrates working Americans and the U.S. labor movement, many government offices and businesses are shut down in the El Paso area.

Here's what is CLOSED:

  • City and State Covid testing and vaccination sites
  • Greater El Paso Landfill closed, but residential garbage and recycling collection will not be affected
  • All City of El Paso administrative offices
  • City Museums and Public Libraries
  • Recreation Centers, Senior Centers and Indoor Pools
  • Municipal Court
  • One Stop Shop
  • WIC Centers
  • Sun Metro will not run on Labor Day
  • Costco
  • Texas DMV
  • Banks
  • Post offices
  • FedEx
  • UPS

Here's what is OPEN:

  • El Paso Zoo – 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Spray Parks – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Pavo Real and Grandview Outdoor Pools - Noon to 4 p.m.
  • Target, open normal hours
  • Walmart, open normal hours
  • CVS, open normal hours
  • Walgreens, open normal hours
  • Most movie theaters, call ahead
  • Most grocery stores, call ahead
