EL PASO, Texas -- 'You Eat I Eat' is the only independent northeast El Paso food pantry and the demand for their services have grown exponentially throughout the pandemic.

The pantry that started back in 2015 used to help between 1,000 and 1,500 clients a month. That number has now skyrocketed to nearly 5,000 clients a month.

"Anyone who comes into these doors they're able to receive a helping hand up and not a hand out," 'You Eat I Eat, founder Dorene Marcus Corothers said.

The pantry will give a hot meal to anyone that comes in, plus non-perishable items and goodie bags to kids.

If you'd like to help, you can drop off donations at 8888 Dyer Street on Tuesday and Thursdays - or make an appointment.

You can also volunteer, all you have to do is reach out to 'You Eat I Eat.'

'You Eat I Eat' is also looking to expand to a new building. They've set up a building fund and are accepting donations through their website or on Cashapp.
