EPCC to give $2,500 scholarships to students looking to pursue certain health careers

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso Community College is hoping to bring in more students to pursue careers in the health care industry.

The community received a grant of about $360,000 from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. With the those funds, EPCC will be able to give eligible students a $2,500 scholarship.

The program will not only help with worker shortages across the country, but also help students who haven't been able to afford to go to school to do so.

Students can choose fields like Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assisting, Certified Nursing Assistant just to name a few.

You must be a student or incoming student of EPCC and have filled out the Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA).

The deadline is August 15.
