TTUHSC commemorates 10th anniversary by celebrating its graduates

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- With several commencements taking place this weekend, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso celebrated its 10th anniversary by recognizing its graduating students in healthcare.

Ceremonies for the Hunt School of Nursing and Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences took place Saturday at the historic Plaza Theatre in Downtown El Paso, celebrating a total of 112 students.

The university said that for the past 10 years, it has been tackling critical nursing shortages in the El Paso area, with 90 percent of its graduates choosing to pursue their careers within the borderland following graduation.

Additionally, according to the university, it has contributed $634 million to the region.
