EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Hundreds of teenage girls from around the region came together to get empowered.

The Young Women's Empowerment Conference took place all day Thursday at the ESC Region 19 Head Start in East El Paso.

Organizer Aliana Apodaca brought together local women professionals to talk to the 500 girls from 14 different school districts about building self confidence, financing college, stress management, and healthy relationships.

The conference ended with a panel of three high school seniors who discussed what they do when it comes to motivation, empowerment, self-care and planning for their futures.
