Domestic violence report shows massive demand for local services

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Local leaders are working to protect survivors of domestic violence. The Center Against Sexual and Family Violence, along with the El Paso County and District Attorney's offices, released the first "Honoring El Paso Victims Report."

The report marks the first annual look at abuse across El Paso, Hudspeth and Culberson counties. The numbers revealed a massive demand for local support services.

In 2025, the county attorney's protective order unit received a record 3,498 applications, according to officials. The center answered more than 5,600 hotline calls and provided more than 28,000 shelter days and lodging nights to survivors.

"We had four deaths in El Paso County for 2025, and so it is to highlight these statistics that are jarring that are unfortunate and to ensure the community," said El Paso County Attorney Christina Sanchez.

Officials said behind every statistic is a human being. Read the full report below.

The report said the District Attorney's Family Violence Unit recorded 915 family violence arrests and 1,756 grant-funded investigations in July-September 2026.
