Yellow crime scene tape surrounds a black car near the Cassidy gate to Fort Bliss.

EL PASO, Texas -- Fort Bliss officials were mum Friday about a crime scene just outside the Cassidy gate to the post.

A tent was erected and crime scene tape surrounded a black automobile along Cassidy Road just down from U.S. 54.

Military police had cordoned off the area, which is located near Bliss Elementary School, and were handling the investigation.

Authorities would not confirm multiple calls to ABC-7 about a body supposedly having been discovered in that area.

A Fort Bliss spokesman said Friday afternoon that he could provide no immediate details about the incident; he indicated officials may be able to provide information on Monday.
