Las Cruces man reported missing twice found dead
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Authorities in Las Cruces said Wednesday that the body of a missing 74-year-old man had been found.
The body of Erwing Witt Witt was found along the 2100 block of West Amador Avenue.
Las Cruces police investigators said they do not suspect foul play.
His body will be sent to the New Mexico medical investigator’s office for an autopsy.
Witt was first reported missing on May 26 and found shortly thereafter. On May 31, he was reported missing for a second time.
Both times, it is believed Witt left his home on foot but his direction of travel was unknown each time.
