Las Cruces shooting leaves one dead, one in critical condition
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- A shooting in Las Cruces Saturday left one man dead and one woman in critical condition.
Police say 80-year-old James Theriault is the suspected shooter. Theriault was taken into custody and is being charged with murder and attempted murder.
Investigators say the shooting happened around 4 p.m. at the 900 block of San Pedro at San Pedro Place apartments.
The names of the victims have not been released.
