ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico -- Democratic incumbent Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will serve a second term after winning the race against Republican Mark Ronchetti.

Grisham has been in office since 2019. She helped guide the state through the pandemic for most of her first term in office.

Ronchetti, a former TV meteorologist, conceded the race late Tuesday night.

During the race, Grisham received from support from President Biden, who joined her on the campaign trail in the final week before Election Day. Former President Obama also endorsed her last month.

Gov. Grisham issued this statement Tuesday:

“Tonight, New Mexico said yes – yes to hope, yes to growth, yes to fighting for our neighbors, not against them. Tonight New Mexico said yes to equal justice under the law, New Mexico said yes to economic opportunity for all, New Mexico said yes to more health care for families, better education for kids and more economic freedom for workers and students."
