Meet the Las Cruces International Airport’s new director

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KVIA) -- The Las Cruces International Airport has a new director. The city on Friday announced it appointed Brad Weems.

He will start working with the Las Cruces airport on Monday.

Weems has more than 20 years of experience in airport management and operations, according to the City of Las Cruces. He previously served as the airport operations duty manager at the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

At Dulles, Weems managed projects in terminal construction and runway rehabilitation, the city said.

The city said Weems is a certified member of the American Association Airport Executives, a private pilot and licensed aircraft dispatcher.

He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Houston. The city said he's dedicated to promoting airport development for economic growth in the region.
