El Paso Police: Wrong-way driver causes deadly Head-on collision on Spur 601
UPDATE 11:20 a.m.: El Paso police say a wrong-way driver on Spur 601 crashed head-on with another car, leading to both drivers' deaths.
The crash happened Sunday around 10:30 p.m. According to police, 33-year-old Andrew James Romine was driving the wrong way on the east lanes of Spur 601 when he crashed into a car driven by 51-year-old Lorraine M. Quintana.
Police say Romaine died at the scene; Quintana was taken to the hospital, but later died.
According to investigators, the collision occurred at a curve where Quintana would not have had an opportunity to see the wrong-way driver.
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso police are investigating a deadly crash that happened late Sunday night on Spur 601.
The two-car crash happened just before 11 p.m. near the Sgt. Major Blvd exit.
Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
