Police identify El Paso man arrested after hours long SWAT standoff

UPDATE Feb 19, 2022 -- Police identify 24-year-old Devan Lovelace as the man who was arrested after a hours long standoff with El Paso SWAT and Crisis Management Team.

Lovelace was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and charges for Aggravated Assault.

He is currently with being held on a $250,000 dollars bond.

UPDATE 4:40 p.m.: El Paso police say a 24-year-old man surrendered peacefully at 4:15 p.m. after an hours-long SWAT standoff. According to police one woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested 24-year-old Devon Lovelace. A police spokesman said he did not know the suspect's relation to the victim.

There were no injures. The area will be reopened to traffic soon.

EL PASO, Texas – SWAT crews responded to a call of a barricaded subject in central El Paso.

The home is located on the 3900 block of La Luz.

Negotiators can be heard speaking to the subject.

This call comes just a day after an hours-long stand SWAT standoff in northeast El Paso that ended peacefully.
