El Paso man charged with sexual assault of child for accusation that stretches back to 2008
EL PASO, Texas -- A 44-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a then 15-year-old girl, according to El Paso police.
The victim, now 28, said Eduardo Pinuelas sexually assaulted her at an apartment on the 900 block of Zaragoza after soccer practice on Sept. 1, 2008.
According to documents, Pinuelas was the victim's soccer coach and 30 years old at the time. The victim said she was having problems and confided in Pinuelas, who gave her rides to practice and tournaments.
The documents state the assault began sometime in September 2008, when Pinuelas drove her to his apartment after a practice.
Investigators say Pinuelas gave a voluntary statement admitting to being with the victim in his apartment and knowing she was 15 years old. His statement included details of what he did to the 15-year-old, but he denies having penetrative sex.
Pinuelas was booked into the county jail on June 7 under a $20,000 bond. He has since bonded out.
