El Paso County Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide in Montana Vista
UPDATE (1:25 PM): The El Paso County Sheriff's Office now says they are investigating a homicide in far east El Paso County. Deputies received a call about a person that had been shot Tuesday morning.
Deputies discovered a male and a vehicle they believe are related. Officials say they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the area. Nearby schools that were placed on lockdown have since resumed normal activities,
EL PASO, Texas -- A spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a "possible injured party" in Montana Vista on Tuesday morning.
Multiple law enforcement agencies can be seen blocking off the intersection of Whitetail Deer Drive and Greg Drive, a residential neighborhood in far east El Paso County.
ABC-7 crews on the scene saw officers on ATVs and a helicopter circling the area. Fire crews from Montana Vista and Horizon are on the scene as well.
ABC-7 learned a report of a possible murder was made to authorities just before 6 a.m.; however that has not been confirmed by the sheriff's office, and nobody has been found.
Clint ISD says schools in the area are secure and classes are continuing as normal.
