Jupiter, Venus orbit closer than usual to earth

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The borderland's night sky is shinning a bit brighter than usual as Jupiter and Venus appear closed to earth.

The phenomenon is called a conjunction as Venus and Jupiter pass each other.

The two planets are going to appear so close to one another, some are calling it a 'kiss.'

Venus and Jupiter are the brightest objects in the night sky right now - aside from the moon.

Conjunctions happen frequently because planets orbit the sun in similar paths.
