President Joe Biden announces 2024 re-election bid

President Joe Biden formally announced on Tuesday that he is ready to run for a second term in office.

This marks four years to the day when Biden made the announcement of his 2020 run for the White House.

The announcement was made in a three-minute video.

80 year-old Biden asking voters to give him more time to “finish the job” he began when he was sworn into office and to set aside their concerns about extending the run of America's oldest President for another four years.

He faces a smooth path to winning his party’s nomination, with no serious democratic rivals.

According to a recent NBC News and Wall Street Journal poll, Biden has an estimated three-point cushion over Trump. Something he doesn't have against non-candidate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
