BERNALILLO, New Mexico -- Centennial High School lost 2-0 to top ranked Volcano Vista Friday afternoon in the New Mexico Athletic Association 5A State Soccer championship game.

The loss ended a remarkable season as the Lady Hawks finished 21-1-2 overall. Centennial was seeded #2 in the tournament.

The team is coached by Alex Reyes who led the last state champion in Las Cruces when he was head coach at Las Cruces High School in 2006.

Reyes led Centennial to their highest ever finish at the high school state championships in 8 years of existence.
