DENTON, Texas -- Three days after the UTEP men's basketball team shook off their road demons, they returned Saturday at North Texas.

North Texas raced out an 11-point halftime lead, and held off a late Miners rally to hang for the 67-57 win.

UTEP (12-9, 3-5) cut the deficit to 58-53 with three and a half minutes to play, but James Reese's three-pointer from the wing sealed the win for the Conference USA-leading Mean Green (14-8, 8-1).

Souley Boum followed up his career performance at Rice on Thursday night with 21 points off the bench to lead UTEP. Bryson Williams added 18.

After a three game road stretch, the Miners now return home for a pair of games, starting with Thursday night at the Don Haskins Center against Middle Tennessee.
