EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive FC goalkeeper Logan Ketterer will remain a Portland Timber for a while longer.

Locomotive FC head coach, Mark Lowry, says Ketterer will remain with the MLS club for at least another week.

Ketterer is on a short term deal with the Portland Timbers because the Timbers have had several injuries at the goalkeeper position.

The decision comes as no surprise after Ketterer's standout performance in his first match with the club over the weekend.

Ketterer didn't allow a single goal, and also blocked a penalty kick.

His performance in his debut match landed him on the MLS team of the week.

The Portland Timbers will host the LA Galaxy this Saturday.

The deal with the Timbers was supposed to only last 4 days, and it came at a great time for the Locomotive FC since they didn't have a match last weekend.

Now with the second match of the season approaching this Saturday, Lowry is left without his star goalkeeper, and he'll look at his two backups to fill the void.

The starting role could go to either Marco Canales, a 19-year-old goalie on loan from FC Juarez, or Javier Beker, a native from El Paso.

Lowry says he's open to bringing in other goalies to tryout for the position, and that most likely the decision will be made on gameday.

The Locomotive FC will face UT Rio Grande Valley, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Southwest University Park.
