EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso Chihuahuas clinch the pacific coast league east division title with a 3-2 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Saturday.
All the Chihuahuas needed was a win either Saturday or Sunday and they had the championship.
The dogs will still play out the rest of the regular season with the final game of the series with the Dodgers set for Sunday at 12:05 p.m. and then they will head to Albuquerque to play the final three games of the 2022 regular season.
From there the Chihuahuas will head to Vegas for the Pacific Coach League Championship against the Reno Aces in a one-game winner takes all game.
The winner will then advance to play the International League Champion on Sunday, Oct. 2, in the Triple-A National Championship Game, also being held in Las Vegas.
This is the fifth division title for the Chihuahuas who were PCL Pacific Southern Division Champions in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
