The Stage is Set: NMAA releases high school baseball and softball playoff brackets

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- Several Las Cruces area high school teams have found themselves a spot in the 2023 NMAA State Baseball and Softball brackets.

Softball

In Class 5A after an undefeated 26-0 season, Centennial locked up the No. 1 seed and will host No. 16 seed Capital in a single-elimination game.

Alamogordo grab the No. 5 seed and will play No. 12 Hobbs on Friday in a single-elimination game.

Mayfield picked up the No. 9 seed and will play at No. 8 seed Albuquerque High on Friday in a single-elimination game.

Organ Mountain also made the bracket as the 10th seed, they will play at No. 7 seed Cibola on Friday in a single-elimination game.

Baseball

In Class 5A Centennial are seeded 6th which is the highest of any Las Cruces area team. They will host Farmington in a three game series starting Friday.

Lac Cruces secured the No. 8 seed and will host No. 9 seed Rio Grande in a three games series that begins Friday.

Organ Mountain earned the No. 13 seed and will play at No. 4 seed Volcano Vista in a three game series starting Friday.

Mayfield locked up the No. 15 seed and will play at No. 2 seed La Cueva in a three game series that begins Friday.

In Class 4A Santa Teresa picked up the No. 7 seed and will host No. 10 Hope Christian in a three game series starting Friday.

In Class 2A Tularosa grabbed the No. 7 seed and will play No. 10 seed Laguna Acoma on Wednesday at 3 p.m. MT.

In Class 1A Mesilla Valley grabbed the No. 4 seed will host No. 5 seed Gateway Christian on Wednesday.
