Hanks Knights prepare for Sweet 16 of Class 5A softball playoffs

EL PASO, Texas - The Hanks Knights are on a mission.

Win a state title in softball for the first time in school history.

As of now everything seems to be going right for the Knights.

The team finds themselves in the Sweet 16 of the Class 5A playoffs.

They'll look to take that next step and advance to the Elite 8 of the state tournament.

That's something Hanks has never done, and it appears the team has what it takes to accomplish that goal.

The Knights have only lost one game this season, and boast an incredible overall record of 38-1.

In the state tournament so far, the Knights have yet to lose a game in any of their best-of-three series.

They hope that win streak will continue when they begin a best-of-three series against Colleyville Heritage in the regional semifinals.

Game one is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. CT in Midland, TX.

Game two is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. CT with game three (if necessary) scheduled for 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two.
