EL PASO, Texas - The 2023 edition of “Orange Fever Fiesta” was the most successful in the history of the long-running event.

UTEP Athletics’ annual fundraiser for student-athlete scholarships generated $403,000 on Saturday, April 29.

This year’s “Orange Fever Fiesta” was presented by Madrid Law Firm and, for the first time, was held at Centennial Plaza in the heart of the UTEP campus.

“It was a tremendous event on a beautiful evening in late April,” UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said.  “We are so appreciative of everyone who came out in support of UTEP student-athlete scholarships, and we are grateful to our Miner Athletic Club staff for their hard work in planning and executing a first-class event.”

“We are incredibly thankful for our supporters who came to Orange Fever Fiesta or joined us while bidding online,” UTEP Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation Charley Thrash said.  “You could feel the energy and Miner spirit in the air throughout the course of the event.  As a community, when we come together, great things happen, and we are very appreciative of all who helped us achieve our ultimate goal, which is to provide scholarship opportunities to UTEP student-athletes.”

The silent and live auction, featuring over 180 items, contributed nearly $247,000 of the $403,000 raised.

Over 520 individuals attended this year’s event.

Next year’s “Orange Fever Fiesta’ will be held in the Spring of 2024.
