UTEP golf’s Max Schliesing named All C-USA second team

DALLAS, Texas - UTEP’s Max Schliesing was named to the 2023 Men’s Golf All-Conference USA second team as announced by league officials on Monday.

Schliesing concluded his first season with a team-best 72.5 stroke average.

The junior played in 11 tournaments, finishing as the top Miner in seven events, while placing in the top 10 four times.

He’s the first UTEP men’s golfer since 2020 (Oscar Ambrosius – second team) to be named all-conference.

The Zermatt, Switzerland, native placed third at The Duck Invitational, shooting 4-under par 209 (70-69-70), while also finishing tied for third at the White Sands Bahamas Invitation at 11-under par (66-67-72).

Schliesing’s 205 in the Bahamas was a season best for 54 holes. At the Mark Simpson Colorado Invite, he finished in fourth place, shooting 3-under par 207, including a season-low 65 in the third round of action.
